The Sages & Scientists Symposium provides a forum for global leaders from a variety of fields – science, medicine, philosophy, the arts, and humanities - to convene and answer some of the most urgent questions facing our future, including:
Can we marshal the evidence to measure how we have progressed in the sustainability of our “planetary well-being”? Where are we on the sustainability front compared with where we need to be? In what areas are efforts still falling short? Has the world already passed the point of no return in terms of climate change? And to what extent should efforts be directed at adaptation rather than mitigation? The symposium will aim to bring together industry leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs and researchers from around the world, and assess what is needed to achieve a more peaceful, just and sustainable planet and chart a path for getting there.
How can we engage corporations in initiatives that transform the well-being of their organization but also the communities at large? The symposium will explore the partnership between progressive thought leaders in organizations and insurance companies to explore new models of converting existing corporate health insurance reimbursement systems into integrative health and wellness programs. Topics such as mental health, behavior change, and employee engagement will be discussed in the context of the corporation and also extending back into their respective communities.
As our world grows ever more complicated, we must shoulder the responsibility for preparing future generations to meet challenges that we ourselves may have not experienced. A good education is the gateway to greater personal achievement as well as a platform that enables individuals to contribute solutions for the issues our society faces. The symposium fosters an opportunity for schools, universities, and companies to partner in shaping the future of education and explore the pedagogy of learning.
